Fiddlin’ Cricket is an instinct that took hold in the wee morning hours upon many a warm night in the summer of 2016. Having spent recent years focusing largely on music with words, Adam was curious to explore the possibilities of instrumental composition while seizing on his earliest musical instincts from the teenage days when he first picked up a guitar: an inclination to give pattern to the subtle and expressive motion of swinging fingers over vibrating strings. Matching undulating melody with free flowing rhythm and organic song structure, Adam has crafted a collection of music using instruments such as guilelle, classical guitar, and banjo. Born of many moods and the shifting seasons, these songs embrace subtle improvisation as they mix shades of classical, blues, jazz, and folk music.
Although his accent rings of Georgia, Northern Virginia, and New Hampshire’s rocky seacoast, Adam currently hails from Cleveland, Ohio where he planted roots in January of 2012 after meeting fellow songsmith Kate Dedinsky and forming the band the Baker’s Basement. Since his arrival, Cleveland and the surrounding region has introduced him to all varieties of performance environments, from coffee houses to concert venues, living rooms to private events. With this recent collection of songs, Fiddlin’ Cricket has taken to the live world in search of a cozy place among Cleveland’s rich and soulful music scene. Enjoy the undulating sounds of Fiddlin’ Cricket.
